About Free to Be Me Play Therapy

Welcome to Free to Be Me Play Therapy. Discover how our unique approach can help your child thrive and find their joy again.

Niamh's Journey into Play Therapy

With 25 years of experience working with children of all neurotypes and in many different environments, Niamh discovered just how valuable play is to our children's health and well-being. This profound realisation led her to become a play therapist, a path she cherishes deeply. What she loves most is witnessing the transformation in children as they find their voice and heal through the power of therapeutic play.

A Space for Connection

The main idea behind Free to Be Me Play Therapy is for parents to feel a renewed sense of connection with their children. She aims to create an environment where children feel safe to express themselves, and where parents can feel less worry and more connection . It’s about the kiddo's rediscovering themselves and strengthening family bonds.

Niamh's Credentials and Approach

Niamh has 25 years of experience working with children aged 2-12  as a Montessori teacher, childcare practitioner  and SNA. She has a 2nd class Hons degree in psychology and a Post Graduate Certificate and Diploma and accreditation  in Play Therapy. Niamh is dedicated to providing evidence-informed care continuously updating her skills and researching different theories of practice, as she firmly believes that every child is unique and a one-size-fits-all approach never suffices.  As a parent of neurodiverse children herself, she can also bring a unique understanding to her practice.

"If you're feeling worried about your child, remember that you don't have to go through it alone. I am here to offer support, safety, and understanding."
